8 months old

Three days ago you turned  months old.

Things I want to remember:
You started sucking your fingers at 3 months old and stopped at 7 months old (just like your sister Brooklyn) Sometimes I wish you still sucked those things. It was so darn cute and you would lay down so much easier. But at the same time I am glad you aren't addicted to them and it is so much easier for me when you stop on your own. I love that about it.

You started the army crawl at 7 months old. You are getting pretty quick. You know lots of words, but don't really know how to tell use yet that you know them.  I can say where is my nose, and you will look at my nose and I can say where are my eyes and you look at them and my mouth and chin too. You are starting to learn how to speak lots of sounds like dadada and babab and your most recent favorite is nanana. On occasion you say mamama. We like playing games together, like finding words that start with D, whenever I hear you say dadadad. Like the other day you were saying it while I changed your diaper, and when I was done we went around to all the bed room doors and I taught you the word door. We opened and closed the door and you touched the knob and patted the door with your hand. That is how you tell me you understand something or you like it. You reach out with your hand and pat it. It is my favorite when I tell you something new and you tap my face. Then I know you really got it!

You have a hard time taking your 9 o'clock nap lately, and usually end up taking one at 11 or so. You still wake up around 10 or 11 pm and 4 am, but you go to bed around 6 or 7 pm. Now that you are 8 months old I need you to sleep through the night please. Could you do that for me? I do like however that you are my 4 or 5 am wake up call. There is no chance I would be getting up on my own otherwise.

Jan. 2014 week 2

I can't believe the second week of January has come and gone so quickly already!
After we got back from the Delta trip, Your dad and I decided that we would try to get you to learn to sleep through the night. So...we let you cry all night. That lasted up to about Wednesday. That night was the worst by far! You were up a couple times and Brendan was puking all night long. I didn't sleep a wink. No one was getting any sleep. (We get grumpy around here without sleep) and I read some more in the healthy sleep habits book and decided you were doing ok waking up one or two times at night still so we are going to hold off on the sleeping through the night training. For another month or so. We will see how it goes.

Jan. 2014 week one

The first week of January was a big week for you.

Monday was technicaly December (but it was in the week so we will count it). That was your first trip to Grandma Lisonbee's house. We showed up to a house full of people. Just about all of the Lisonbees were there. Grandma soaked up every minute she could get with you and you were just as sweet as you always are.

You slept all night that night. I couldn't believe it. I decided you had been so tired from not getting good naps. But then the next day you didn't get good naps either, and it must have caught up with you because you screamed all night the second night.

Tuesday was New Years eve. You officially turned 7 months old. You were my New Years kiss this year. I think it is going to be a good year!

I think you were happy to be home by Wednesday and sleeping in your own bed. I know Brooklyn was too because Brooklyn was sick all day Tuesday.

Thursday Grandma Christian came over to baby sit you for a couple hours and when she left you waved goodbey to her for the first time. She was so excited she was your first wave.

Friday You Crawled! For the first time and I got it on video. You looked like it was easy for your first time. You seemed to enjoy it.

Saturday we got everything in the house all cleaned up and ready for church to start and 9 AM the next morning and you wore your cute new church tie that matches your brothers and Dad's you all looked so good Sunday morning!
