Playing dress ups.

Yesterday your cousins were up here playing all day because the moms went to a funeral and then later that night the girls went to see Brooklyn perform her ballet Coppélia.

Sometime in the middle of the day you came to me and said mom I'm done playing with Bastian. It was kind of funny but you weren't used to playing with him for that long. I suggested you get your toy dump trucks out and with a new excitment you took off and I didn't see the two if you again for at least another hour.

Earlier at lunch time when all the kids were home you were playing dress ups and the green dragon costume fit you perfect. Your brothers thought it would be funny to photo bomb you while I took pictures of you.

The things you say

This morning when you were getting out of bed you said "I'm tired up"
"What does that mean?" I asked.
"I'm done being tired and it's time to get up."

You are saying the cutest things all of the time.

Usually if you are really addiment or sure or really want something you add super do per in front of it. Usually u you end up saying something like, "I super do per want some mom"

Instead of saying the word 'something', your say 'sunkin'. I love it when you say that one.

And if I ask you what you are doing or what's wrong instead of saying nothing you say "Anything!" But when you say it it sounds more like "Anysing."

You have been talking since you were a year old and in pretty good sentences so for the most part you speak very well and are able to articulate your wants and needs clearly for your age. That is why these little things you do are so cute to me.

Just a couple of days ago you started asking why to everything I say. Just out of the blue. I don't know where it came from but I know it is normal developmentally for you age. I just haven't seen it with any of your brothers or sister so it was pretty funny to hear you say why over and over.

A couple weeks ago you potty trained and grandma called your underwear panties. I call then underwear. But you call them pantsies. I think you call then that because they are something that go under your pants and they are smaller then your pants, so pantsies is what the are now.

Kids corner

Today was the first day we did kids corner together.

We started kids corner after j took s course in parenting and they suggested we play with our kids for 10 min. Twice a day and the child gets to pick what the play or activity is.

Today you wanted to play with the Playmobil set Brendan got for his birthday.

I have never had so much fun with you.

Eventually we got the bat boat out and together we had pretend water adventures in our boats together. We discovered islands and treasure and raced our boats around the water.

You were so patient with the excessive amount of pictures we took to get the right one. We almost had just as much fun taking and retaking pictures of ouselves.

Playing with blocks

This morning (for kids corner) we had so much fun playing with blocks together.

I love playing with you and we had so much fun being creative.

When I asked you if you wanted to nock it over after we had built it you didn't like the idea one bit. You wanted to keep it up.

Most kids would want to knock it over before they are even done building it.

We have never built blocks together and I had so much fun I can't wait until we do it again soon.

First selfies

You were playing starfall on my phone and started taking pictures.

Here are the ones that weren't a close up of your finger print.

Potty training day 4

This morning was rough. Now we are deep down in the trenches of potty training.

First, he peed a big puddle on my bedroom floor after I asked him 3 times to try to go in the toilet.

Then while I was in my bathroom putting on makeup Nolan was in his bathroom flooding it.

Luckily I have a water vacuum.

I emptied it 4 times to clean it all up. Then I got a towel for the rest the floor once the majority was gone. He had clogged the toilet with toilet paper and continued to flush it spilling toilet water all over the floor.

Why I thought I had time to put on makeup I don't know.

I was pretty deflated after that, so I resorted to the TV while I cleaned everything up and finished getting myself ready. I did so well staying away from TV up until today, but I had no problem with it at this point.

Then we set up the trusty 'shock blankets' and camped out in the living room for the rest of the day.

Again.

Even though it was a rough start. He is doing so well and I think by tomorrow if he will be able to keep underwear on all day, I will pretty much count him as trained.

I will still have to prompt him to go (probably for the rest of his life) but I am so excited about how well he has done.

Four days is nothing to complain about. Hard work but totally worth it.

Potty training day 3

This day I felt confident enough to take Nolan out to different potties and see how he would do on them.

Would he be scared of the public restroom automatic flushers? Or refuse to sit on a foreign toilet?

We went to the high school where my mom works (to say hi to grandma) and he did great. He didn't pee but I think the auto flusher flushed that toilet about 3 times before he got off and he wasn't even phased.

Then we went to my mom's house, John's office, and the elementary school.

He peed in two different toilets and I think he was saving his pee for this place because he peed twice here and nowhere else.
The toilet in Brooklyn's kindergarten class room is miniature. Even the door handle to the door is low for little sizes to open it.

He was so excited to go pee in this toilet. He did everything himself. Opened the door...
washed and dried his hands...etc.

I was so excited for him and I think he was feeling pretty proud of himself too.
The next toilet we need to try out is the one at the public library. That thing is a miniature size too.
